About our Coffs Harbour Education Campus

The Coffs Harbour Education Campus (CHEC) is an innovative and inviting learning environment incorporating a Senior High School, TAFE and Southern Cross University all on one site.

Our large shared campus has a range of practical skills centres and workshops including a state-of-the-art automotive workshop, functioning hair and beauty salon, commercial kitchen, child care centre, simulated hospital for nursing training, farming gardens and nursery, and the only furniture design workshop on the North Coast. The campus features extensive student amenities including a multi-level library, computer facilities, on-campus gym, campus bar, indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, and the popular Osprey Restaurant.

The Coffs Harbour Education Campus is situated between the thriving city of Coffs Harbour and the beachside community of Sawtell, built upon the homelands of the Gumbaynggirr Aboriginal people.

If you’re looking to enter the workforce armed with invaluable experience and practical skills, check out the courses available at our Coffs Harbour Education Campus.

Student life

    • They say that all good things come to an end, and sadly term 3 at North Coast TAFE is no exception. Say adios to classes, have a great break, and we'll see you all for term 4 on October 7. For all the nerdburgers out there, our library is open from 8:30am to 7pm weekdays, closing at 5pm on Fridays and open on Saturday 27 September from 1pm to 5pm. The library is closed on the public holiday Monday 6 October. For online library assistance, use the AskUs service at http://northcoasttafe.edu.au/current-students/library-information-services/ask-us.aspx.

  • The Coffs Harbour area boasts three competitors this year. Joseph Taylor, 19, is a carpentry apprentice employed by G&T Young at Dorrigo and Kieren Taylor (no relation), 19 is a plumbing apprentice employed by Crossingham Plumbing Service at Taree. Peter Cooper, from Korora, has completed his apprenticeship and is now a self-employed wall and floor tiler. Peter competed at the national competition in Sydney in 2012 and is well placed to exceed his fourth place.
