About our Grafton campus

Grafton TAFE Campus is an important part of the Clarence Valley community, offering students an ideal place to study and live.

Our campus features purpose built trades facilities including a painting and decorating showcase, a large automotive garage, specially fitted electrotechnology rooms, and multiple welding and metal work bays with a strong focus on safety. We also have an advanced music and screen facility, child studies and childcare centre, a restaurant-sized kitchen and on-campus restaurant, multiple IT labs, and a separate hair and beauty salon open to the public.

The township of Grafton sits on the banks of the beautiful Clarence River in the Bundjalung Aboriginal nation, and is known for its jacaranda trees, water sports and friendly country feel.

    • "My teacher said 'it's OK, she's not in the wrong room', so I suppose I was treated differently from the start because everyone was wondering why I was in the plumbing room." North Coast TAFE female apprentice students and automotive trades head teacher Graham Armstrong spoke to ABC North Coast about how we are challenging gender stereotypes here at NCTAFE. #WomanInPower

  • A big thumbs up to North Coast TAFE hairdressing apprentice and local man about the hood Reuben Kirke! Reuben is chasing his dream of becoming a hairdresser, a dream that he hopes will take him around the world. Reuben has been lucky enough to stake his claim as part of Dimattia Hairdressing and Prince Street Barbers. Reuben recently had a bit to say on his love for the trade and his expectations for the future: "I had always thought Hairdressing/Barbering would be a cool career. It's a trade that has, and will, be around forever. There are loads of opportunities within the industry to grow. It just felt right when I was lucky enough to have Kerrie offer me a job" said Reuben. "What I love most about barbering would have to be the feeling I get after giving someone a fresh new feel and making them feel happy about the way they look" he added. When asked what people can expect when calling in for a cut Reuben was emphatic. "A cool and fresh vibe where everybody is welcome. It's a place that can deliver the latest and trendiest cuts" Best of luck with your future endeavours Reuben. North Coast TAFE is proud to play its part in your journey and we look forward to following what the future has in store for you. Keep on charging! #nctafe #hairdressing #barbering
