About our Great Lakes campus

Great Lakes TAFE Campus is an innovative and modern campus located at the Great Lakes Joint Education Campus in Tuncurry. Established in 2001, our campus shares the site and some facilities with a junior and senior college, allowing specialised training across a wide range of ages and skills.

Here you will find a nursing practical room, retail skills centre, travel centre, carpentry and joinery workshop, multi media lab, a business model office, and the Gallery Corridor which hosts several art exhibitions every year. The campus has a range of student amenities including BBQ areas and a pizza oven attached to an Aboriginal Meeting Place.

Our campus sits on the traditional lands of the Worimi Aboriginal people, surrounded by coastal bushland, sparkling waterways and iconic beaches of the Great Lakes.

  • Restore The Dignity – this is a program being led by our Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Support class. This project supports people who are homeless by providing them with personal care items such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, brushes, combs, personal care items for women, etc. We are also looking for NEW or AS NEW handbags and NEW or AS NEW bathroom bags for men and women. Please drop these items into Student Central at Taree & Great Lakes TAFE before the 5th of December to give the students time to get them to the local welfare agency to distribute for Christmas. On behalf of our Certificate IV Mental Health Peer Support class, thank you for your support.
