Do you have a passion for helping others and a desire to enter the rapidly growing health industry? Our Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care could be the course for you. With a focus on culturally appropriate application, during this course you will develop valuable skills in supporting clients to access health services, providing basic health information to clients, complying with infection control and prevention policies, and various other fundamental skills.

Studying this course through North Coast TAFE means you will learn from professionals who are currently practising in the industry and you will enjoy outstanding support throughout the course. This course can be a stepping stone to a wide variety of career options from working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) to working in mainstream services such as general practices.

Workers in this industry are crucial to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. This course could be your path to making a difference in the lives of others, or, if you are already working in the industry, this could be your opportunity to refine your skills and make a bigger impact on the lives of your clients.

ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY:  If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian traineeship pathway, including a school based traineeship.

North Coast TAFE offers a wide choice of courses, some that attract government subsidies and some that do not. The fees payable will vary, depending on your personal circumstances, your study history and the course you choose.

Calculate fees

Your government subsidised fee, and your eligibility for concessions, exemptions and scholarships, are all calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

The 2017 subsidised fees indicated on this page are indicative only and based on 2016 fees. The state government may make some small changes to fees and subsidies for 2017 enrolments and we will update our site if and when that happens.
