About the course

Course Number: 10217NAT-01V01

This course is for Aboriginal people (or non-Aboriginal people, subject to local Aboriginal community approval) who have basic skills in Aboriginal Language/s and who are seeking to increase their Language proficiency. You will develop routine speaking, listening, reading and writing skills in Aboriginal Language/s. You will also learn about local Cultural Knowledge and Protocols relevant to the use of Language. These skills and knowledge will help you to participate in your community, progress in your job or do further study, and will assist in the reclamation, revitalisation and maintenance of Aboriginal Language/s. This course helps you proceed to further training in Aboriginal Language/s and, depending on elective units undertaken, to further training in - Agriculture, Horticulture and conservation and Land Management - Business Services - Screen and Media - Visual Arts, Craft and Design - Information and communications Technology The course can also lead into employment in the education sector for Aboriginal people and into employment working with Aboriginal communities to strengthen relationships and strive for community capacity building and sustainable development.
