Are you a car-enthusiast with a good eye for detail and artistic flair? The Certificate II in Automotive Body Repair Technology will give you the skills to pursue a career in such diverse fields as auto body repairs, auto body refinishing and detailing. You receive hands-on training on campus and in the workplace with highly skilled, up-to-date facilitators with solid industry links and the opportunity for promising students to receive work placement.There has been heavy involvement of various industry stakeholders in the design and layout of this course, as a result we teach a mix of skills and competencies that have our students work-ready once they complete the course. Additionally, there is a large range of jobs available in the automotive industry on the North Coast and it is an industry that does not tend to fluctuate like many others do. In our Certificate, trainees receive a good basic mix of practical and theoretical knowledge and skills. Work placement is an important part of these courses, to achieve competency, you will be required to have workplace evidence.
North Coast TAFE wants you to know that while this qualification has no formal entry requirements, we do want you to succeed, so we are providing information about the skills and knowledge that would help you complete this qualification. You do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy that will help you complete your course and ultimately to work in your chosen field.Students who complete this qualification level will gain the skills necessary to undertake routine activities and provide solutions to a limited range of predictable problems. Graduates will develop basic knowledge of an area of work and learning and will be able to talk and write about these.North Coast TAFE can provide support for reading, writing, maths and English Language. Further training pathways from this qualification include any of the four streams in Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology or other relevant qualifications.

A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
