Do you appreciate a good steak? How about a quality pork roast or well-cut rack of lamb? Start your career in one of Australia's most predominant food service industries with TAFE NSW's Certificate II in Meat Processing (Food Services). This meat processing course will provide you with entry level skills to prepare meat products for retail sale, including speciality meat cuts and gourmet meat. You will learn the key techniques of a professional meat cutter as well as skills in meat preparation, packaging and customer service. You will also learn how to comply with Quality Assurance (QA) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements as well as to follow safe work, hygiene and sanitation practices for employment in the meat industry. TAFE NSW's Certificate II in Meat Processing (Food Services) will equip you for work preparing meat products for a variety of outlets, including supermarkets, catering and hospitality suppliers and meat packaging enterprises. You will also qualify for more advanced NSW TAFE courses and butcher training so you can not only find a good job, you can build a great career in Australia's vast meat production industry.
