This qualification has become superseded across Australia and an updated version of this qualification will soon be available. This means that North Coast TAFE may continue to deliver the old qualification for 12 months from the date of change. Students enrolling during this time must complete the qualification by the transition date or transition to a new qualification when it becomes available. Are you an outdoors person with an interest in learning the practical skills for growing food crops?
The Certificate II in Production Horticulture has been developed in consultation with employers as a traineeship for people in the production horticulture industry or those seeking employment, who want to develop introductory skills and knowledge to become assistants or horticulture tradespeople within the industry.

You will learn about safe work practices, as well as selected skills areas such as: horticultural cropping, biosecurity, chemicals use, irrigation and drainage, hydroponics, machinery operations and maintenance and pest management.

There are no educational entry requirements for the Certificate. Due to the nature of the industry, physical fitness is required.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian traineeship pathway.
