This course is for those want to work as an air-conditioning and refrigeration mechanic.
You will learn how to select components, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain refrigeration systems and equipment that apply to food storage and preservation, air conditioning and air distribution equipment in buildings and premises.
Before you enroll in this course you must contact the campus or campuses of your choice for details of information sessions and other procedures that may apply. Compulsory attendance at an information session may apply.

 The Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration qualification meets PART of the requirements for issue of a 'Qualified Supervisors Certificate - Refrigeration and/or Air Conditioning' issued by NSW Fair Trading, which permits the holder to work unsupervised on refrigeration and/or air-conditioning systems and associated electrical work and to
directly supervise others undertaking this work. The course also includes regulatory requirements for purchasing and handling refrigerants.
 
Note: The Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Legislation Amendment Bill 2003 apply to this qualification.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway, including a school based apprenticeship.
