Are you a person with artistic flair, looking for a career in a steady industry? Our Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology is not just suited to those with a particular interest in cars, but to those with good attention to detail. You will receive hands-on training at TAFE and in the workplace, with highly-skilled facilitators, who have solid industry links. Our industry recognised I-CAR training courses ensure apprentices receive current industry information and the latest skills and knowledge.North Coast TAFE offers I-CAR accreditation through our industry training alliance, which is highly regarded by potential employers. There is a large range of jobs available in the automotive industry on the North Coast and it is an industry that does not tend to fluctuate like others. There are also many other career paths for spray painting outside of the automotive industry.The coursework combines practical and theoretical work and is taught in both classes and workshops.
Students must be apprenticed to qualify for Smart & Skilled enrolment. Assessment requires access to a fully equipped workplace under supervision.As automotives is a very technical and sophisticated industry, students need a high level of literacy and numeracy, including computer skills, to successfully undertake this qualification.
Further training pathways from this qualification include Certificate IV in Automotive Body Repair Technology or other relevant qualifications.

A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
