About the course

Course Number: SIH30111-01V02

This is where you begin your journey in the creative art of hair colour and design. Doing your training at NC TAFE is your best choice to develop your skills and knowledge on this colourful journey of hair design, and our Certificate III Hairdressing qualification is tailored for apprentice hairdressers working as part of a team in a hairdressing environment. Discover where your career can take you, with a passion for hair fashion work, as a platform stylist, design for stage, television and film, or events. You will develop competencies in communicating in the workplace, consulting with clients, selling products and services, and designing and applying a broad range of technical hairdressing services.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.
We also offer this course to non-trade students at a Fee for Service Price.

People considering enrolment in hair and beauty courses need to be aware that skills development will require students to practise on each other and that industry dress codes will apply. This will necessarily involve touch but will always be practised and applied in accordance with industry codes of practice and ethics.

Work Placement
You are required to be employed in a hairdressing salon to complete the course work.  You will have the opportunity to work on real clients in our well equipped simulated salons.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway, including a school based apprenticeship.
