Are you a “people person”? Have you always dreamed of a career in the community services sector working with people who have a disability? If so, then the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is for you. This qualification, which has been designed by industry professionals, is suitable if you want to work on an individual basis as support for a person who has a disability. This kind of work requires discretion and good judgement as well as a solid base of factual, technical and procedural knowledge. This course covers a range of core unit competencies including providing individualised support, recognising healthy body systems, working with diverse people, supporting independence and wellbeing, working legally and ethically and following safe work practices for direct client care. Successful completion of the Cert III in Individual Support (Disability) can lead to a range of potential career opportunities that are both challenging and rewarding including Health Support Worker, Respite Care Worker and Accommodation Support Worker (Disability).
