About the course

Course Number: BSB31215-01V01

If you are passionate about literature and are looking for a career in a library-based role, the Certificate III in Information and Cultural Services will help develop your interest into employable skills and tools to use in libraries. Upon graduation, potential employment exists in roles such as a library assistant.

Our library courses have been developed out of local employment need. Our teaching staff work in libraries on the North Coast and regular meetings are held with a wide range of library representatives Australia-wide, to ensure our courses remain relevant to today's work environment.

You will gain a variety of useful library skills, including how to organise and maintain library collections, how to search library databases, use cataloguing tools, use and support multi-media equipment. Face-to-face customer service skills will be a focus of the course, as well as providing opportunity to use social media to communicate with customers and colleagues. Finally, you will develop a range of skills that will allow you to assist with public activities and events.

Fees

North Coast TAFE offers a wide choice of courses, some that attract government subsidies and some that do not. The fees payable will vary, depending on your personal circumstances, your study history and the course you choose.

Calculate fees

Your government subsidised fee, and your eligibility for concessions, exemptions and scholarships, are all calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process.

The 2017 subsidised fees indicated on this page are indicative only and based on 2016 fees. The state government may make some small changes to fees and subsidies for 2017 enrolments and we will update our site if and when that happens.
