Are you looking to pursue a career as a butcher? Our Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) is the course for you. Through on the job training and assessment, this course will equip you with all the skills required to effectively perform the duties of a retail butcher. You will learn to identify cuts and types of meat, weigh and package meat for sale, sharpen knives, make sausages, prepare and slice meat, operate a bandsaw, and many other fundamental skills of the meat processing trade. This qualification is the trade qualification for butchers and is suitable for Australian Apprenticeship pathways.No occupational licensing, legislative, regulatory or certification requirements apply to this qualification.After achieving this qualification, candidates may undertake:- any other Certificate III in Meat Processing qualification, with credit for applicable units successfully completed- MTM40111 Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Leadership)- MTM40311 Certificate IV in Meat Processing (Quality Assurance)- MTM40411 Certificate IV in Meat Processing (General)- small business management qualifications.
A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
