Join TAFE NSW’s Certificate III in Meat Processing (Slaughtering) for reliable work in the abattoir industry. This meat processing course will provide you with an overview of the meat industry as well as knowledge of how to comply with Quality Assurance and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) requirements and safe work, hygiene and sanitation practices. You will also learn important slaughter floor operations, knife sharpening and other fundamental skills of an abattoir slaughterer and meat cutter, including how to provide solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable workplace problems. Qualify for immediate employment or go on to more advanced NSW TAFE courses and butcher training towards a comprehensive career in Australia’s vast meat production industry.
