Do you see yourself working in media production? Our Certificate III Media is the qualification where you will acquire knowledge and skills to start or expand your career. You will discover media archiving, learn about cameras and lighting, community radio program making and presentation, develop your skills in editing, interactive media authoring, and production.This course is offered via TAFENow online and students will need full web access to complete the course work and assessments.The TAFE Campus' studios are also available for student use. You will need a Mac formatted hard drive. The Video Studio is the control room for our multi-camera television studio featuring 4 broadcast quality 3 chip cameras, vision switcher, lighting equipment and multi-screen monitoring. The studio also contains a digital audio workstation running the latest version of Pro tools. Also a Green screen Cyclorama studio. The computer software used in this course is Final Cut Pro 7 studio including: compressor, motion, DVD studio Pro, Colour atem vision switcher. It would be an advantage to have a MAC computer with Final Cut Studio software at home.

You do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy that will help you complete your course and ultimately to work in your chosen field. Students who complete this qualification level will have developed a range of technical and communication skills that will enable them to complete mostly routine tasks and interpret and act on information available to them. They will provide solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems and in a work setting may take some responsibility for the work of others.North Coast TAFE can provide support for reading, writing, maths and English Language. A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
