About the course

Course Number: AUR31216-01V01

Are you a plant mechanic apprentice looking to gain your qualification in a flexible, user-friendly training environment? The Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology is designed for those people with a passion for the mechanical repair industry and the challenging skills that develop as a result. This course was designed by the automotive industry to meet its requirements and the qualification will allow the holder to gain future employment in highly paid jobs such as earthmoving and mining.

The first year of your apprenticeship takes place face-to-face at your nearest automotive training centre. The second and third years can be carried out on the job, with our trainers coming to you in your workplace, allowing you to put the skills you learn to practical use in the workforce.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian apprenticeship pathway.

Work Placement
All students enrolled in this course must be apprenticed in the industry.  Assessment and completion of the course requires access to a fully equipped workplace, under supervision.  All our NC TAFE Automotive courses are classroom and blended delivery modes, including discussions, working in groups, and workplace log books.  Students work with real automotive vehicles and equipment in simulated environments on campus.
