Are you a hands-on learner with good attention to detail, a flair for colour and design, who enjoys seeing a project through to completion? Express your creativity by learning how to design and construct bathrooms and other tiled areas in indoor and outdoor areas, homes, commercial fitouts, industrial areas, and more. Our Certificate III Wall and Floor Tiling course is for apprentice wall and floor tilers working in the building industry. We offer electives that enable you to develop skills in a range of areas such as decorative tiling, tiling domestic pools and spas, scaffolding and working from heights. You will also; learn how to lay tiles on a variety of internal and external surfaces, including horizontal, vertical, curved, sloped and twisted; and learn about waterproofing wet areas, tile types, tile accessories, tile glues, tiling patterns and cement mortars.Students have the opportunity to learn and develop skills in simulated workplaces and on-the-job ensuring they qualify with relevant, work-ready skills.

Before enrolling in this course you must successfully complete the WHS Induction Training (White Card) which will allow you entry into a construction worksite.Literacy and NumeracyNorth Coast TAFE wants you to know that while this qualification has no formal entry requirements, we do want you to succeed, so we are providing information about the skills and knowledge that would help you complete this qualification. You do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy that will help you complete your course and ultimately to work in your chosen field. Students who complete this qualification level will have developed a range of technical and communication skills that will enable them to complete mostly routine tasks and interpret and act on information available to them. They will provide solutions to predictable and sometimes unpredictable problems and in a work setting may take some responsibility for the work of others.North Coast TAFE can provide support for reading, writing, maths and English Language. A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
