Would you like to play a vital role in improving the confidence, mobility and independence of others? Our Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Physiotherapy) may be the perfect course for you. This course will set you on the path to becoming an allied health assistant, specialising in a physiotherapy context.

As an allied health assistant in physiotherapy, you will support patients on their journeys as they receive treatment to restore movement or lessen physical pain. Working alongside a physiotherapist, you will assist in the assessment of clients, you will help clients to set and achieve goals, and you will support the delivery of customised physiotherapy programs.

As a component of the course, you will undertake 120 hours of work placement. This will give you valuable experience in the practical aspects of an allied health assistant's role.

Studying this course through North Coast TAFE will also give you access to the state-of-the-art Shared Health Research and Education Campus (SHREC) in Port Macquarie. SHREC gives you the opportunity to learn in a supportive environment alongside student doctors and other allied health professionals studying with the University of NSW and the University of Newcastle. ENROLLING IN FIRST AID UNITS OF COMPETENCY If you are seeking to enrol in a First Aid unit of competency you are advised that to complete the unit you must be able to perform basic life support skills, for example control bleeding and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). If you have a disability that would prevent you from performing required basic life support skills you are advised that you will not be able to achieve the unit of competency.

This qualification is suitable for an Australian traineeship pathway.
