This course will help you develop the skills required to provide effective assistance to an allied health professional; conducting therapeutic and program related activities under their guidance. This course will equip you with specialist skills and knowledge in the area of community rehabilitation, allowing you to focus your career path. In addition to this, you will learn about maintaining high standards of service, working with diverse people, interpreting and applying medical terminology, recognising healthy body systems and many other fundamental areas that will allow you to thrive in the industry.

As a component of the course, you will undertake 120 hours of work placement. This will give you valuable experience in the practical aspects of an allied health assistant's role. Undertaking this course through North Coast TAFE will also give you access to the Shared Health Research and Education Campus, where you will learn in a supportive environment alongside student doctors and other allied health professionals studying with the University of NSW and the University of Newcastle.
