Are you ready to take your hairdressing abilities to new levels? Our Certificate IV in Hairdressing is your opportunity to enhance and expand your skill set. You will learn advanced techniques in the areas of hair extensions, chemical reformation and trichology, fashion hairstyling, wig creation and maintenance, volumising hair and many other valuable, high-level skills. Looking to advance to a management role or to take on staff in your own business? This course will also develop your skills in leadership, allowing you to provide technical leadership to hairdressing teams. Advancing your skills through this course may also open up a wider range of opportunities such as providing hairdressing services in the fashion, entertainment or photography industries. Studying the Certificate IV in Hairdressing through North Coast TAFE ensures you will be learning from professionals who have strong industry networks and who are currently working in the industry. This means they stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate this knowledge in their teachings. You will also enjoy listening to guest speakers such as hairdressers specialising in some of the latest trends. Work PlacementAll students will have the opportunity to work on real clients in our well equipped simulated salons, but current employment in a hairdressing salon is highly recommended.

Entry to this qualification is open to those who have vocational expertise in the hairdressing industry. Vocational expertise must include a minimum of 2 of the 3 points below:- experience as an operator in a commercially run salon- provision of cutting, styling and chemical services- establishment of a clientele baseLiteracy and NumeracyNorth Coast TAFE wants you to know that while this qualification has no formal entry requirements, we do want you to succeed, so we are providing information about the skills and knowledge that would help you perform this qualification. You do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy that will help you complete your course and ultimately to work in your chosen field. Students who complete this qualification level will have a broad range of skills and knowledge that can be applied to specialised and/or skilled work areas. A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
