If you love working with people, food, coffee and drinks, this hands on course will prepare you for a career in the hospitality industry.With potential employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, motels, function and catering operations, pubs, clubs, cafes and coffee shops, this course will set you up for the beginning of a life long career.You will learn on the job in our training restaurants and develop your skills in a range of service styles from casual to fine dining. You will also have the opportunity to train alongside some of the best in the business through organised events such as the Melbourne International Food and Wine Festival and Celebrity Chef dinners. These events provide our students with networking opportunities to kick start their career.This qualification is suitable for an Australian Apprenticeship pathway.

There are no entry requirements for this qualification.Pathways Information.Individuals may enter SIT40313 Certificate IV in Hospitality with limited or novocational experience and without a lower level qualification. However, it isstrongly recommended that individuals undertake lower level qualifications,and/or gain industry experience prior to entering the qualification.
When you finish this course you may be eligible to do SIT50313 Diploma ofHospitality or other diplomas in any service industry field.
Possible job titles include:- Bar supervisor or team leader- Concierge- Duty manager- Food and beverage supervisor or team leader- Forecast analyst (accommodation services)- Front office supervisor or team leader- Housekeeping supervisor or team leader- Gaming supervisor or team leader- Reservation analyst- Shift manager.
A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
