Would you like to take your musical, song-writing or instrumental skills to the next level? The North Coast Institute offers state-of-the-art facilities amongst the best in Australia, with classes taught by industry specialists in a wide-variety of disciplines, including jazz, classical, contemporary and world. Their expertise and electives, developed in consultation with the music industry, will help refine your skills and broaden your depth of knowledge to help you reach your goals.The Certificate IV in Music Industry includes: Techniques for arranging music, notation of music for performance, production of music demos, the development of instrumental techniques, as well as band and solo performances, all taught in a purpose-built facility. The course is a practical, hands-on experience which will develop a well-rounded skill set in any musician or singer-songwriter.Prospective students must undergo a screening interview to determine suitability and be able to demonstrate an interest or involvement in music and competency in at least one instrument or voice. Students will also be required to have basic computing skills including the ability to use a word processing package at an elementary level.

You do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy that will help you complete your course and ultimately to work in your chosen field. Students who complete this qualification level will have a broad range of skills and knowledge that can be applied to specialised and/or skilled work areas. A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.

Working with one of our RPL assessors we’ll review your life and work experiences as well as any previous study you may have done to confirm just what we can match up with your current course of study.
Note: Some short, licensing or compliance courses, eg Food Safety for Supervisors or First Aid are not granted RPL as demonstrated competency is required by regulatory authorities.
