Are you passionate about the rights, entitlements and wellbeing of younger Australians? If so, the Certificate IV in Youth Work is for you. This qualification, which has been designed by industry professionals, is suitable for workers who develop and facilitate programs for young people in a variety of contexts. This often includes community-based programs and activities that are designed to address the social, behavioural, health, welfare and developmental needs of young people. This course covers a range of core unit competencies including working effectively with young people and their families, engaging respectfully with young people, participating in work health and safety, providing first aid, using communication to build relationships and working with people with mental health issues. Successful completion of the Cert IV in Youth Work can lead to a range of potential career opportunities including Community Development Youth Worker, Recreational Youth Activities Worker, You and Family Services Officer, Youth Case Worker and Residential Support Worker.
