About the course

Course Number: SIT50212-01V02

Do you work in an area where you need a sound knowledge of event management processes and a broad range of skills to co-ordinate complex events? Perhaps you would like to develop in this area.
The Diploma of Events will formalise some of the administrative, promotional and organisational skills you already have and extend your capabilities further.
With event management skills in the tourism and travel, hospitality, sport and cultural and community sectors in ever-increasing demand, you can up-skill yourself ready to take on the challenge of event management for companies or event venues.
Workplace Requirements:
You are required to either be in paid employment or do volunteer work in a workplace in order to complete the practical aspects of the course.
The workplace you select must provide you with the opportunity to do a range of tasks; planning, organising and coordinating events. Suitable workplaces include: event management companies, event venues, or organisations that organise their own events. Work could be undertaken in an office environment where the planning of events takes place, on-site at venues where events are staged or a combination of both.
Assessments for this course will require verification that you can perform tasks to the required standard by your workplace supervisor. Complete details of the requirements of the workplace are available in the Workplace Assessment Guide. You will also need to video certain practical tasks so will need access to a digital video recording device and/or a digital camera and associated software to save and upload video and image files. Many mobile phones and smart phones include this technology. Please note: completion of this course in 12 months is considered full-time participation.
