Do you want to become an indispensable part of a business or government website operation by creating, managing and overseeing dynamic web pages? Our Diploma of Website Development will step you into senior ICT professional roles with responsibilities that include website design, development, site performance and database integration for websites, where you can be responsible for implementation and acceptance testing. The skills and knowledge from this course will also allow you to work as an independent web developer or head an in-house team of designers and developers. This course will teach you how to research and incorporate a range of website technologies and trends, including emerging technologies, social media and mobile/web applications. This qualification is designed to facilitate careers for individuals as both independent web developers, or as team members working in integrated project roles. All classes are held in the computer labs, access to Moodle and Dropbox is required for interactive and online activities and assessments. Office 365 is available to all students free of charge. Access to a home computer is desirable.Work PlacementWork placement is not compulsory but encouraged. Many of the courses are conducted in the evening to cater for students who are employed and upskilling.

Literacy and NumeracyWhile this training package does not specify any entry requirements, students do need to have, or be able to attain, a level of literacy and numeracy competency that will enable them to gain the required skills and knowledge to complete their course and ultimately to work in their chosen field. North Coast TAFE is committed to ensuring that students receive training, assessment and support services that meet their individual needs. Therefore, before commencing this course, you may be required to complete a literacy/numeracy assessment. This assessment is designed to identify students who may be at risk of not being able to complete their course due to the level of Literacy and Numeracy skills required to complete the course.
When you finish this course, you may be eligible for advanced standing in Advanced Diploma or Vocational Graduate Certificate qualifications or other higher education sector qualifications

A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
