Are you passionate about the rights, entitlements and wellbeing of younger Australians? If so, the Diploma of Youth Work is for you. This qualification, which has been designed by industry professionals, is suitable if you wish to be responsible for the development and outcomes of programs and services for young people. This often includes community-based programs and activities that are designed to address the social, behavioural, health, welfare and developmental needs of young people. This course covers a range of core unit competencies including working effectively with young people and their families, engaging respectfully with young people, participating in work health and safety, analysing impacts of sociological factors on clients in community work and services, supporting young people to take collective action and working effectively with young people in the youth work context. Successful completion of the Diploma of Youth Work can lead to a range of potential career opportunities including Case Manager, Coordinator Youth Services, Senior Case Worker, Senior Youth Worker and Youth Work Team Leader.
