This course is for personnel involved in the sale, service and promotionalservice of alcohol in licensed premises. There are no entry requirements for this course.Whilst NSW laws regulate the sale, consumption and provision of alcohol topeople under the age of 18 years (minors) there is no specific advice given bythe NSW Office Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR), The Liquor Act (2007), TheLiquor Regulation (2008) and Service Skills Australia about the age ofparticipants undertaking units of competency related to the sale, consumptionand provision of alcohol.TAFE NSW Tourism Hospitality and Events Project Advisory Group, made up ofrepresentatives from all TAFE NSW Institutes, however have therefore agreed thatthere be a minimum age restriction of 17 years as an entry requirement into thefollowing unit in this course:SITHFAB201 Provide responsible service of alcohol
Achievement of this unit provides credit towards a number of hospitalityqualifications.
A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
