Course Number: 160-16427V01

3D modelling of assemblies using the CAD SolidWorks program. The course is aimed at existing apprentices, tradesman and any staff involved in drafting, design and programming. It would be preferable that the participants have some experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and have reasonable computer skills and a basic knowledge of Computer Aided Drafting. Students will be able to download the educational use of this program for free on their own computers for home practice. 3D modelling is used across a range of engineering fields. The program is predominantly for designing and drawing parts, machinery and structural steel and can be used to create files to drive 3D printing, laser/ water jet cutting machinery and routers.   Additional home practice will be required.
