Are you physically fit and agile person interested in a career in chainsaw operations? The Statement of Attainment in Chainsaw operations - Trim and cut will provide you with nationally recognised competency-based training in the safe use of chainsaws for cutting timber and felled trees.
You’ll learn the skills to trim and cut felled trees, maintain chainsaws, cut materials with a hand-held chainsaw and follow OHS policies and procedures.
Once you have successfully completed this course you will have the knowledge to recognise situations where the use of a chainsaw is inappropriate and unsafe to your skills level.
Due to the extremely dangerous nature of chainsaw operations it is recommended that you also complete a recognised First Aid Certificate that complies with industry requirements (i.e. Forestry Corporation of NSW, WorkCover).
There are no entry requirements for this course.
The completion of a recognised First Aid Certificate that complies with industry requirements (i.e. Forestry Corporation of NSW, WorkCover) is recommended given the extremely dangerous nature of chainsaw operations. Participants must have a high level of physical fitness and manual dexterity.
Basic chainsaw operator.
A TAFE NSW Certificate IV or Diploma could give you up 6 to 12 months advanced standing in a university degree and some Advanced Diplomas offer even more credit.
