Allied Health is a broad field encompassing all the occupations that enhance or support the effectiveness of the allied health professionals. As an Allied Health Assistant you will work under the supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists, rehabilitation therapists, and podiatrists. Not only will you assist during therapy, but also play a part in the ongoing care programs of patients.
The role of Allied Health Assistant is pivotal in the relationship and communication between the health professional, the patient, and the patient’s family; building confidence and dealing with the administration of the treatment procedures. A successful Allied Health Assistant will have the ability to work with a wide range of groups, individuals, and community agencies, and with sick and disabled people of all ages.
