We are incredibly proud of Judy Anne Bell who made a bold decision returning to study at 59 years young and has found a fulfilling new career in childcare.
In 2015 when Judy Anne received news that her employer was restructuring and her role was being assigned new responsibilities which would see her out on the road and the world as she knew it started to fall apart.
“I had a comfortable job that could see me through to retirement and then all of a sudden it was turned on its head, I was left floundering,”
After some time spent recovering from the shock, Judy Anne, an accomplished project officer, took the opportunity to reflect on her skills and passions and decided to return to study the Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care at TAFE NSW Casino.
Since graduating, Judy Anne has this year found employment with Fairy Mount Preschool where Ann Christie, Head Educator, says has made a strong start in the profession.
“It has been wonderful having Judy join the centre, I feel like I can trust her to make good, safe decisions for our children and she is calm, gentle and considered. She is very capable, objective, respectful and compassionate. We are lucky to have her on board.”
Judy Anne urges anyone who doesn’t love their job to take charge and make a change. Congratulations Judy Anne Bell, you have shown courage and tenacity and are a role model to the community.
We are so proud of Kyogle local, Reid Wilkie who has recovered from a serious downhill mountain biking accident to land his dream career at Kyogle Hospital after completing a Diploma of Enrolled Nursing at TAFE NSW Ballina.
“Getting back into study, writing assessments and managing the workload was a bit of a shock but we had an amazing class – really supportive group of students, I was so lucky to have such a great group of friends to study with"
Mr Wilkie recommends making the time now to pursue your ambitions, to explore the study and finance options and suggests ‘you don’t have to wait for an injury to make you chase your dreams’.
Well done Reid!
