Today...Thursday 14th September is R U OK? The day is about inspiring people to start a conversation and ask someone we could be concerned about (such as a family member, friend or elderly neighbour) “are you ok?”.
With that in mind please feel free to join us at any of the below 4 locations today. Our TAFE Community Service students (malls) and TAFE Support Services staff (campuses) are here to answer any questions and provide friendly advice.
* CHEC (Hogbin Drive) - Cuppa & morning tea from 10am to noon in the Quad. A BIG thanks to Red Sparrow Tea Co who have supported today by providing their vitality tea...which is just sublime.
* Coffs Campus (Glenreagh St) - Icypoles and some fun activities from 12pm to 1pm outside Student Central.
* Toormina Gardens Mall - Free cupcakes, food vouchers and information from 9am to 11.30am.
* Coffs City Centre Mall - Free cupcakes, food vouchers and information from 9am to 1.30pm.
Counselling & Student Support at Coffs Harbour Education Campus are stepping up for Steptember - taking 10,000 steps a day for 28 days straight to raise money for people with cerebral palsy.
Every dollar raised will provide vital equipment, therapy and services to children and adults living with cerebral palsy or the funds will go towards groundbreaking research into the prevention and maybe even one day a cure for CP. See more info here: www.steptember.org.au

If you have been naughty and have some CHEC Library fines we have good news for you...you have the opportunity to clear the fines and feel good about it in the process.
From Monday 11th September you can bring in non-perishable food and library staff will waive your fines, no matter how large or small.
Current community services students are helping to bring suicide “Out of the Shadows” and have aligned with Lifeline in Coffs Harbour to encourage people to speak up and raise awareness about the issue at an upcoming awareness event.
The ‘Out Of The Shadows’ community walk is a part of World Suicide Prevention Day and will be held on Sunday 10th September from 10am-12pm, starting at the reserve behind the Marina North Wall and finishing at the Park Beach Reserve.
Cupcake morning tea is on now (10.00am to 11.30am) in Student Central at CHEC...because, well why not hey. Show your TAFEcard and it is FREE!!!
