Not sure what career to choose? Contact us
At North Coast TAFE we understand that every student has individual needs and we want to help you make the most of your ability.
If you are living with an injury, disability or health conditions such as deafness or hearing impairment, intellectual disability, physical disability and vision impairment, mental health, autism or a learning disability we can provide specialist support for your learning journey.
The decision to take on study is a big one –if you’re ready to have a go, we want to be there for you right from when you enrol to help you take advantage of every opportunity.
By letting us know about your disability or additional learning needs at the time you enrol, we will be able to make sure you find the right course, get the right support, and we may even be able to save you money on your fees!
If you’re not sure if you have a disability or need additional support, don’t worry, you can talk to our Support Service Counsellors who can help you work this out.
It is important to tell us if you have (or think you may have) a disability or additional learning need before or when you enrol because we want to save you money on your fees.
This opportunity to save is only available at the time you enrol – so we want to make sure you claim it!
Here are three great reasons to let us know about your disability or additional learning needs when you enrol:
Our Disability Support Consultants can help you choose and apply for an appropriate course and help you access special equipment, note-takers, interpreters, tutors, as well as assistive technology.
Your teacher may be able to make changes to course delivery, teaching methods or assessment tasks to suit your needs.
We have a range of technology available for students who have a disability, or may need some support with literacy, such as Read & Write Gold.
Our Disabilities consultants are on hand to help meet your individual needs. Consultants provide specialist support in deaf/hearing impairment, intellectual disability, physical disability and vision impairment, mental health, autism and learning disability.
